Lead Fishing Tackle

Last May, Carson Trout Lepine and Greenan Lakes Association (CTLG Lakes) supported the Wolfe Lake Association’s (located north of Kingston) initiative, Let’s Get the Lead Out Campaign, to encourage local anglers to voluntarily bring in their lead fishing tackle and to consider fishing with more eco-friendly alternatives. 

Lead sinkers and jigs are deadly to loons and other aquatic wildlife. Tungsten, tin, and glass are some examples of a safer alternative to use in our lakes. By donating your lead sinkers and jigs, you will be eligible to enter our draw to win prizes.
